The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are global goals established by the United Nations to promote sustainable development.
Education plays a crucial role in achieving these goals, and helps create global citizens who are committed to addressing SDG challenges. This includes raising awareness, promoting values, critical thinking, empowerment, lifelong learning, and fostering global collaboration.
Integrating SDGs into the curriculum can be done through various approaches and practices, such as studying climate change in science or analysing poverty rates in mathematics.
The “learn-think-act” technique supports students in acquiring knowledge and taking action. While more course content and curriculum modifications are needed, teachers can still bring SDGs into the classroom.
